MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two cars, each with a bullet hole in it, arrived at the Memphis Police Department precinct on Mt. Moriah Road.

MPD said the two drivers arrived at the precinct in a Cadillac and a Mercedes.

The Cadillac's driver-side door had a bullet hole in it, and the Mercedes passenger-side door had a bullet hole. According to police, a dispute started in a Whitehaven neighborhood earlier in the day that may have led to the shooting.

"Individuals got into a dispute, took off driving," Major Rodney Adair said. "One vehicle followed the other vehicle. Somewhere along the route of travel, shots were fired. Both vehicles were struck. No one was hit."

One of the drivers, Hollis Seals, told officers that Dennis Broadie fired six or seven shots at his car near Lamar Avenue and Interstate 240. Seals then said he shot at Broadie but only because Broadie shot first.

Both men admitted to the shooting, but both said they shot in self-defense.

Both men are charged with aggravated assault.
