Starkville, Oxford regional brackets revealed

Ole Miss and Mississippi State now know who they will be facing as they host their respective baseball regionals.

In Oxford, Ole Miss fronts a pool that includes Tulane, Boston College, and Utah.

The Rebels will host Utah on Friday at 7 p.m. while Boston College and Tulane battle it out at 3 p.m. in the double-elimination style tournament round.

Utah finished the season at 25-27, but picked up a Pac-12 Championship. Tulane won the American Conference regular season championship, and Boston College received an at-large bid from the ACC with their 31-20 record.

The weekend will continue until one team is left standing. A possible deciding game will take place Monday, June 6 at 7 p.m. if necessary. All games will take place at Swayze Field in Oxford.

The Oxford Regional is paired with the Coral Gables Regional, which includes Miami, Florida Atlantic, Long Beach State, and Stetson. The winner of the two regionals will face each other in a three-game series.

In Starkville, the Bulldogs will be hosting a regional as the number 6 seed in the nation. They play in a bracket that includes Cal State Fullerton, Louisiana Tech, and Southeast Missouri State.

MSU will host SE Missouri State at 1:30 p.m. Friday, while Cal St. Fullerton and LA Tech battle it out at 6:30 p.m. All double-elimination tournament games will take place at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville.

SE Missouri received their birth by winning the Ohio Valley Conference behind a 39-19 season. LA Tech received an at-large appearance for the first time in school history. Their 40-18 season earned them their first tournament appearance since 1987. Cal State Fullerton is in the tournament for the 25th consecutive season. The Titans finished 35-21 and won the Big West championship.

The Starkville regional is paired with the Lafayette regional that includes Louisiana-Lafayette, Arizona, Sam Houston State and Princeton.
