MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

There will be hundreds of motorcycles on the road in the Mid-South this week. Members of the Harley Davidson Owner's Group are holding the annual Tennessee State Rally in Memphis starting with registration on Memorial. Day.

Six hundred of them will get a chance to ride their “hogs” right up to the front steps of Graceland. The Tennessee State H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) Rally is May 31 to June 4. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity that involves two great American icons, Elvis Presley’s Graceland and Harley Davidson motorcycles. It’s one you certainly don’t want to miss.

Members of the Des Moines Iowa H.O.G. Chapter rolled into town Monday. They said they heard about it on the Biker Dad Facebook page. Matt Howell, director of the Des Moines Chapter said they pick an out-of-state rally every year and picked the Memphis event this year.

"I've never been to Tennessee, and I wanted to break out of the Midwest and see what the South is all about," Howell said.

The Harley Owners Group is a national organization that has about 600,000 members. "If you own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, you are welcome to join it. Each year Tennessee puts on a state rally. This year, for the first time in a long time, it’s in Memphis” said Bob Baxter, director of the rally.

Besides the ride to Graceland, H.O.G. members will ride to Elvis' birthplace in Tupelo, MS, to Rattlesnake Saloon in Tuscumbia, AL, to Full Throttle Sloonshine in Trimble, TN, and Johnny Cash's birthplace in Arkansas. Riders will also get the chance to experience Mississippi blues by riding the Blues Trail and the legendary music spot, the crossroads. Bikers will also of course take part in Bike Night on Beale Street.

Harley owners and guests can register at the Cook Convention Center. The downtown Sheraton is the host hotel.

If you aren't going to the rally, or just don't ride, please watch out for the extra bikers on the roads all over the Mid-South this week.
