MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

It's a tragic event that changed one Southaven family forever after a Memorial Day trip.

An 11-year-old was killed and a mother remains in the hospital after a single-car accident in Middle Tennessee.

Officials said the crash was caused when a tire blew out, causing the vehicle to crash. Now, the dynamics of the family will never be the same.

Marketta Mamiaro and her two daughters were driving down Interstate 40 from Nashville when the rear tire blew. She lost control of the vehicle, the car flipped, and run off the road, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

According to THP, neither daughter was wearing a seatbelt.

"Prayers for this beautiful family."

"Sending you all my love."

Those are just a sample of the heartfelt words left on social media for the family as Mamiaro continues to recover in the hospital, and deal with the heartbreaking loss of her daughter.

Mamiaro needs reconstructive surgery and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.

Mamiaro's daughter Nikki survived the crash and is fine. However, here 11-year-old daughter Mia was killed.

The outpouring of support has been overwhelming, as evidenced by $19,000 raised on the GoFundMe page is just one day.

We do not know if any charges will be filed. We are told they are pending.
