MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Tiger Lane will go from blue to orange for a day on Thursday in recognition of Gun Violence Awareness Day.

After a violent beginning to 2016, with Memphis seeing 93 homicides already, Tiger Lane is expected to be full of individuals wearing orange who are seeking a change while recognizing those who have lost their lives to gun violence not only in Memphis, but nationwide.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and will consist of speakers, music, food, and activities for children.

The Wear Orange event is hosted by the Memphis chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
