MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

With temperatures ranging from the 90s to the 40s, there was everything from hot and sunny to cool and cloudy this May.

In May, our average high temperature is 81 degrees and the low typically comes in around 62 degrees. We pretty much matched these temperatures this year, but the average monthly low temperature was a few degrees below normal.

The lowest temperature of the month came on May 6 and was only 49 degrees. We ended the month with the highest temperature of May at 92 degrees on May 30. We also had three other days at the end of May with high temperatures in the lower 90s.

Even though we had 17 out of 31 days with rain, our monthly total of 5.07 inches was slightly below our average amount of 5.25 inches. The greatest 24 hour rainfall total was May 24 to May 25 with 1.37 inches of rain. There were three days with rainfall totals above one inch.

May 25 didn't only bring rain to the Mid-South; we also had strong winds with a recorded wind gust of 39 mph in Memphis.

What did you think about the weather this May?
