A Better Mid-South: Kevuntez King, a great example
Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - In this day and time when we typically find ourselves lamenting the trouble with the younger generation, it's good to recognize and praise the bright spots.

Kevuntez King is one of those bright spots. He has a lot to be proud of: a 4.0 GPA, a three sport athlete, voted Mr. Craigmont at his high school, and the title Prom King.

The biggest part of King's story is his commitment and tenacity.

You see, King sold newspapers on the corner of Poplar Avenue and Estate Drive for 4 years. Yes, I said 4 years.

He sold those papers all that time with a good attitude, making a big impression on the people who live nearby.

Neighbors said King always had a smile on his face and something nice to say.

That's what I call loving where you are.

Do you know a young person like King who deserves recognition? If so, email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com or post a message on my Facebook Page, A Better Mid-South.

Kevuntez King, thank you for setting a good example for others and making this A Better Mid-South.
