A Better Mid-South: Max gives back

A Better Mid-South: Max gives back

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5

Just when it seems we can't take any more depressing news involving children in our community.. a bright spot shines through.

This bright spot came in the form of 10-year-old Max.

19-year-old Brent Price was killed in a car accident recently. Donations are being gathered to help pay for Price's funeral.

Young Max showed up with three dollars and some change. He then gave a dollar from his dad.

Max then came back with more change from his couch and his dad's car and then another five dollars from his dad.

But he didn't stop there. Max gave another 20 dollars. 20 dollars he was saving for a guitar, but said God told him to bring it because the family needed it.

If that doesn't restore your faith in our children and fellow human beings, I'm not sure what will.

There are good things going on in the midst of our challenges.  If you want to share something with me, email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com or post a message on my Facebook page, A Better Mid-South.

Max, thank you for having a giving heart -- you are making this A Better Mid-South.
