A member of the WMC Action News 5 staff was one of the organizers of this year's event.

"This is the first Memphis Caribbean Jerk festival. We will be back next summer as well to entertain the public Caribbean flavor food and party," said
Alan Kirkpatrick.

Organizers say they are already planning on holding the event again next year.
