MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man is behind bars, accused of trying to get a 17-year-old girl to have sex with him.

According to the police report, the victim went to Auto King Custom Shop on James Road to have her car repaired. She said the business's manager, Norman Carrick, followed her into the waiting room.

Because she felt Carrick might harass her based on her previous visits to the shop, she put her phone in a record mode.

While in the waiting room, Carrick could be heard on the recording asking her to have sex with him, even saying, "I don't want your money; I want you."  The victim could also be heard resisting his advances and his requests for sex in lieu of repair payments.

The victim also told police he tried to take off her shorts.

Carrick is charged with sexual battery and solicitation of a minor.
