MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A United States Postal Service stamp set a Guinness World Record.
A 1991 Pluto: Not Yet Explored stamp traveled three billion miles on a spacecraft to visit the dwarf planet.
This trip earned it the world record for farthest distance traveled by a postage stamp.
The record will add another one billion miles as the New Horizons mission will journey to visit a Kuiper Belt object known as 2014 MU69.
This object is considered one of the early building blocks of the solar system.
A ceremony was held at the Postal Service headquarters on July 19 to mark the achievement.
Space fans are asked to share the news on social media with the hashtag #PlutoExplored.
