MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A mother of 3 was nearly killed after being shot in the face following a fight between teenagers Monday evening.
Cleshario Moore is lucky to be alive after the bullet pierced her skin less than an inch from her eye.
"It hit me. It could have been it at that moment," said Moore.
Moore is one of two gunshot victims following a fight Monday evening. She said on her way back from the store, she walked upon a fight between neighborhood teenagers at Crockett and Keel Streets.
Moore said she tried to break up the fight, but was caught in crossfire.
"Once I got my children out of harm's way, I was shot," said Moore.
Police said 24-year-old Kevin Farmer was the shooter. They said a teenage girl was also shot during the incident.
Moore shared a picture of her wound after doctors told her the bullet went straight through her skin, but she would be OK.
For Moore, she said she is lucky to be alive, but hopes this sends a message that the violence needs to stop.
"Everything could have been resolved," said Moore.
Following this shooting, Holy Vision Temple is hosting a Save Our Youth event. It takes place this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
