Memphis Redbirds game postponed due to travel issues

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Memphis Redbirds game against the Iowa Cubs has been postponed due to travel issues preventing the Redbirds from arriving at AutoZone Park. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 5:05 p.m., and game two will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. for the doubleheader, and the Stephen Piscotty Redbirds Bobblehead will be distributed to the first 1,500 fans beginning at 4 p.m. Fans who have tickets to Friday's game may exchange them for any other game during the 2016 Redbirds regular season.

The Redbirds were scheduled to fly from El Paso this morning and connect via Dallas, but the connecting flight was canceled. The team is busing back from Dallas and will be significantly delayed in arrival.
