MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis police officer is in danger of facing disciplinary action after a suspect with a gun was placed in the back of a patrol car.
Johnny Jones-Dean, 19, and Christopher Orange, 25, were put in a squad car early Friday morning while officers investigated an assault in Frayser.
However, when the officers patted them down for the second time, they discovered a loaded gun in Jones-Dean's pants.
Police said video from inside the patrol car shows Orange pulling the weapon out of his pants and handing it to the other man.
Jones-Dean is in jail charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. He has a $30,000 bond and is due in court on July 25.
Christopher Orange is charged with aggravated assault, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He has a $40,000 bond and is scheduled for court on July 25.
