MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police are searching for three masked men accused of robbing a CVS on Germantown Parkway.
Police said the three men entered the store at 11:45 p.m. Friday and robbed the business at gunpoint.
Police said the suspects took prescription medication and personal property from several customers.
They were last seen running east on Walnut Run Road.
"I'm very surprised, and then on the other hand, maybe not, because people are so brazen today," CVS shopper John Jennings said. Jennings gets all of his prescriptions filled at the CVS and said he always felt safe because of the location. He can't imagine what it was like for the customers and employees inside when the robbery took place.
"I mean, what goes through your mind is I'm sure self-preservation, give them what they want," Jennings said. "But, in today's world, people are killing people for just no reason."
According to a police report, one of the robbers made one employee go into the pharmacy area and demanded anything with 'codone'. The man ended up getting away with $30,000 worth of pills. Meanwhile, one of the other robbers took customers' phones.
"Evidently it's well thought out, because they knew the times and I'm sure, but gollee, I' just can't, I just couldn't imagine," Jennings said.
However, Jennings said he refuses to let a crime like this scare him from coming back.
"If you're worried about every place or every area that got robbed, everybody would be staying at home, you know," Jennings said. "I just can't let that fear bother me."
The three men are all described as black males in their early 20s, standing near six feet, and wearing black hoodies. One wore a white "Scream" mask and the other two wore white shirts over their faces. One man also wore a grey hat.
