Backbeat Tours, Sprock 'n' Roll launch haunted bike rides

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Imagine combining a night on the town with a bike ride and spooky locations. That's exactly what Backbeat Tours and Sprock 'n' Roll have done with their haunted party bike pub crawls.

Guests who ride Sprock 'n' Roll's 16-person pedal-powered bicycle will pedal their way to the spookiest sites in Memphis' South Main Historic District and stop at up to three historic pubs for drink discounts and specials. Riders hear stories about each location's haunted history, as well as its resident spirits, as told by Backbeat Tours' professional tour guides.

You'll also get first-hand tales of more recent paranormal encounters. You might even end the night with a ghostly experience or two of your own.

"It was such a natural fit to team up with Backbeat Tours on a haunted pub crawl," Sprock 'n' Roll owner Ashley Coleman said.

"Their guides have been leading ghost tours all over downtown for more than ten years." Backbeat Tours owner Bill Patton added. "We're always looking for fun and innovative ways for visitors and locals to come out and enjoy downtown Memphis. As soon as we saw their bike on the streets, we knew we had to do something with Sprock 'n' Roll. These guys really know how to party!"

You can roll out from Beale Street on the two-hour pedal bike tour every other Wednesday and on Trolley night, which is the last Friday of every month. Private tours are available upon request. Check out Backbeat's and Sprock 'n' Roll's websites for more information.
