MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The state of Tennessee approved Memphis City Council's budget for the fiscal year.
Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury Justin Wilson said the passing of the budget will allow Memphis to continue on its path to success.
"I am excited and humbled to have received this communication from the Tennessee Treasury's Office. We are incredibly proud of all the work that was put into creating and drafting this budget and we are looking forward to seeing the effects it will have on the City." Mayor Strickland said. "We look forward to continued cooperation between my office, the City Council, and the State of Tennessee. The passing of this budget is a great step in the right direction for Memphis."
