A Better Mid-South: Habitat for Humanity

A Better Mid-South: Habitat for Humanity

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5.

I'm feeling inspired this week.

Did you know there's a 91-year-old man and his 89-year-old wife building homes for those in need right here in Memphis?

I'm embarrassed to say it took all my strength I had to hit my snooze button this morning.

President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, are working on a new Habitat for Humanity project at the Bearwater Park area in North Memphis.

If that doesn't inspire you, I'm not sure what will.

I know we can all be doing more and there is no shortage of need right here in the Mid-South.

Just this week, volunteers for Habitat for Humanity are building 19 homes and I know they could use your help now or later.

For information about how to volunteer, go to my Facebook page, A Better Mid-South to find the information or shoot me an email and I will send you information back.

Serving more and giving more always makes this A Better Mid-South.
