It's been 18 years since the Tennessee Vols last won an SEC Championship.
The program seems primed to get back on top of the League this year with a lofty preseason ranking of 9 nationally by Associated Press.
Favored to win the SEC East, living up to the hype is what drives First-Team All SEC Quarterback Josh Dobs and Head Coach Butch Jones.
"We're holding ourselves to a high standard," Dobbs said. "How we perform on the field in practice, in workouts. Some of the little details and things you might not want to do, but you perform those details to be great."
"We need to improve as a football team in our explosive plays," Jones added. "In our clutch plays. Making critical plays at critical moments in the game. They understand the work capacity. They understand the work ethic. This is how you practice; this is your style of play. This is how you meet. This is how you do the extra. All those intangibles are in place with this football team."
Tennessee returns 17 starters overall. The Vols first game is against Appalachian State, September 1 in Knoxville.
