MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The former girlfriend of a man on trial for the murder of a Memphis pastor said the whole thing centered around an arrangement for prostitution with the pastor. However, prosecutors said the whole thing was about stealing the pastor's car.

Lashonda Williams took the stand and testified against her former boyfriend, Roger Reed Jr., who is on trial for the 2014 murder of Prospect Baptist Church Pastor Don Smith.

She said Smith was in the driver's seat and she was in the back seat. Williams told the court the couple had got into Smith's car because they made an arrangement with him. The arrangement was to have sex for $40.

Williams testified the oral sex happened inside Smith's Buick Lacrosse. Williams said after that, Reed shot Smith.

She said after the shooting, Reed got out of the car and put the body in the back seat. She said she drove to a secluded area where the body was dumped into a pond on Lichterman Road in Hickory Hill.

Williams said the couple then picked up her two daughters in Smith's car and drove to Greenville, where they are from.

They were arrested a few days later after a high speed chase. Williams said the gun used to shoot Smith was her gun. Investigators found it in her purse.

The couple also took selfies on her phone and posted them on Facebook.

Roger Reed pleaded not guilty. His attorney said Lashonda Williams approached the pastor, killed him, and took his car.  Reed's grandmother and father were also in the courtroom.

Lashonda Williams is also charged in the murder of Don Smith. She has not yet gone to trial.

Testimony in the case is expected to wrap up Thursday.
