Ever wonder why some people need more coffee than others? Turns out, you may get it from your mama.

Your DNA could determine how much coffee you drink.

European researchers have identified a gene that affects how the body tolerates caffeine. The research discovered people with a variation of the gene drank fewer cups of coffee each day, because the caffeine stayed in their bodies longer. In other words, some people require less caffeine to feel the effects, compared to those with the gene variation.

The study was led by researchers at the University of Edinburgh and published in 'Scientific Reports.'
