A humble Gyasi Chisley, 40, most recently known as the youngest CEO to head up Methodist Healthcare North (within the Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare System), has accepted a new position as Global Senior Vice President with United Healthcare. In his new role, Chisley will head up the creation and implementation of strategic and innovative health programs.

The Milwuakee native and his family have called Memphis home for the past three and a half years. They will soon be leaving the Bluff City and likely be based in Chicago or the Bay Area of California for his new position.

Chisley is the youngest within all of Memphis' healthcare top executives. He worked alongside Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jonathan Watkins while at Methodist. Both men made history as the youngest top executives within the Methodist healthcare hospital system.

While in his role as CEO at Methodist, Chisley led thousands of associates and also served as a role model for many people in a city plagued with numerous healthcare issues. Chisley should also be noted for heading up a $2.5 million renovation of the Methodist North Hospital lobby and campus entrance in 2015.

Chisley told WMC Action News 5 that he prides himself on giving back to the Memphis community.

"I'm so excited, proud, and blessed to have established some of these strategies in this market initially to the Families that need it most. I will always have Memphis and Methodist to thank for the opportunity to launch this important work," Chisley said.

He said healthcare is his ministry and serves as a tool to impact social change. He said he's truly humbled.

"I think the time to revolutionize healthcare in the United States is long overdue. I want to lead, partner, and collaborate with anyone that is working to truly transform our healthcare delivery model, putting the patient at the center of this transformation," Chisley said.

Chisley has over 20 years of hospital/fiscal operations experience. To read more about his background, click here.

Chisley wants to acknowledge his full appreciation to Gary Shorb and Dr. Michael Ugwueke who leads up the Methodist Healthcare system.
