The Iowa Energy, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, will hold their annual open player tryouts for the upcoming 2016-17 season on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 1-5 p.m. at the Hyde Gym on the Memphis University School campus (6191 Park Ave., Memphis, TN 38119). Doors will open for registration at noon.
“Open tryouts are a great opportunity for players to showcase their abilities to our staff. They have consistently been a major factor in our roster building process,” Grizzlies Director of Basketball Operations Chris Makris said. “We’re excited to see the next crop of talent competing for a spot on our roster this year.”
Players who participate in the open tryouts will be observed and evaluated by members of the Memphis Grizzlies and Iowa Energy basketball operations staffs.
Please note, all applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA D-League and complete the required paperwork. For registrations completed prior to Oct. 9, the fee is $150. The fee increases to $200 for registrations completed after the Oct. 9 deadline. Information about the tryouts, registration forms and payment options and instructions are available online at Grizzlies.com or IowaNBA.com.
