MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

NBA star Cameron Payne returned home to Memphis this weekend to give back to the community.

Payne, now playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder, visited Lausanne Collegiate School’s basketball camp.

The visit was in an effort to support the Cameron Payne Foundation, which aims to provide scholarships for Mid-South students and even work to rebuild the Whitehaven YMCA.

“We're just trying to help out in the community as best as we can so people can, stay active, and go to college,” Payne said. “We can try to make it cheaper for them. Anything we can do, it's all about school and it's all about basketball for me."

The camp runs through Sunday. Payne will spend time with the young players and offer them some pro tips.
