Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott is now the Cowboys starting quarterback.
This happened after Tony Romo went down with a fracture in his back, which could keep him sidelined as many as 10 weeks.
Romo, who's already had two back surgeries, got hurt when he took a hit on the third play of Thursday night's preseason game at Seattle.
Prescott has shined in the preseason.
Against the Seahawks, the fourth round draft pick completed 17 of 23 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown in that game.
The Cowboys open the season September 11 at home against the New York Giants.
