Two former school security guards said they were fired because they are white.

The two men are now suing Shelby County Schools (which was Memphis City School district at the time of the incident), and their case is going to trial.

Henry Todd and Richard Pinner were caught on school surveillance using force to take down a 17-year-old pregnant student.

Todd and Pinner said the African-American student was resisting arrest. They said she was eating a snack when she started yelling and using profanity.

The officers said they used appropriate force, but were fired because they are white and the 17-year-old pregnant student they forced to the ground was black.

The student involved in the incident was issued a juvenile summons for her role in the altercation.

The incident happened in 2013, but it is now going to trial.

In court Monday, a teacher testified that he heard the school's principal say, "If those white officers hurt my black babies, I'm going to have them fired."

The former principal testified saying that was not true.

Attorneys for Shelby County Schools, as well as attorneys for the security officers, declined to comment about the ongoing trial.
