Make-A-Wish Mid-South granted hundreds of wishes this year, ranging from Disney trips, princess parties, fishing trips, and beyond.

But in reality, Make-A-Wish is doing more than just fulfilling dreams.  A 2011 Wish Impact Study revealed that a wish granted to a child empowers children to fight harder against their illnesses.

Greater Memphis Auto Dealers Association is celebrating its 100 years in business, and what better way to celebrate than to give back to the community.

The support of generous donations is what gives Make-A-Wish Mid-South the ability to grant wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.

That's why a check from the Greater Memphis Auto Association is a huge help and will help make a difference for countless Mid-Southerners.

"We've granted 248 wishes so far this year and our goal is to just keep going," Rebekah Sudduth, Make-A-Wish Corporate Development Officer, said. "There are more kids than ever before in this area that need support, so these donations are going to allow us to make that happen."

The donation was presented at Landers Nissan in Southaven as GMADA continues their centennial celebration.

"During that 100th year anniversary, each month we're giving $2,500 to charity," Landers Nissan General Manager Jeff Field said.

Field said service to the Mid-South is part of their culture and tradition.

"Not only do we sell cars and services, but we give back to the community," Field said.

Whether it is meeting their favorite athlete or a trip to Disney World, Make-A-Wish Mid-South said all donations help fulfill childhood dreams.

"So many of our wishes are granted in the summer so this is our busiest time, so we are grateful to have these funds to make those wishes come true," Sudduth said.
