Nesbit, MS (WMC) -

A mission to help a paralyzed North Mississippi veteran was a huge success.

Wednesday several groups, including bikers, delivered on their promise to Tyler Densford.  Densford was paralyzed during a training exercise, fracturing his thoracic vertebrae on June 11. He has severe spinal cord damage and is paralyzed from the waist down.

The Southern Cruisers Riders Club, American Legion in Nesbit, and a group of women called the Rosies held a motorcycle poker run for Densford on August 20th. Wednesday night the groups presented him with a check for $23,768.41. The money will go to, among other things, converting his home to be handicap accessible.

Densford had surgery on June 14 to stabilize his spine. He now uses a wheelchair to get around. His family set up a GoFundMe Account to raise money for Densford recovery. His family also posts recovery updates on a “Prayers for Tyler Densford” Facebook page.
