The flurry of Big 12 Expansion reports going out on websites, Twitter, and wherever you want to look, are enough to make you crazy.
ESPN's Brett McMurphy just released a list of 12 schools to make the Big 12's first cut, and Memphis is not on it. But, it's not exactly what you might think.
Yes, McMurphy's list includes schools like Rice, SMU, Temple, and Tulane. However, he did explain why the Tigers did not make his list.
"ESPN could not confirm whether Memphis, which was also under consideration by the league, made the cut," McMurphy said.
That's because no one at the University of Memphis is saying anything to anybody. All schools invited to this expansion process had to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, meaning they won't talk out of school about what's going on with them.
Apparently the U of M is the only school vehemently adhering to that agreement.
Either way, no one knows for sure what will happen except the Big 12 University Presidents. Their next meeting is set for October 17 in Dallas.
