2 indicted in murder, robbery of 'Bundles of Hair' owner

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two men were indicted on murder charges in the death of a Whitehaven businessman in February.

According to Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich, 33-year-old Julius Russell and 41-year-old Louis Wakefield III were charged in the death and robbery of 36-year-old Willie Abston. Abston was shot multiple times at his store, Bundles of Hair, in February.

Investigators said the men are also accused of holding customers in the store at gunpoint. The robbers took several bundles of hair after shooting Abston and ran away.

The men were also indicted on charges of especially aggravated robbery, aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, and two counts of aggravated assault.
