(WMC) -

It’s Week 3 of Friday Football Fever! We had fast and furious action this week, but that meant a lot of blowouts. Let’s recap some of the week’s top games:

MUS 40, Olive Branch 21

Wasting no time, Olive Branch’s Jaylen Gale took the opening kickoff 80 yards for the touchdown to put the Conquistadores up early.

MUS would answer later in the first quarter when Steven Regis found Jack Heathcok for a first down. The Owls would have to settle for a field goal, however, as Trey Thomas hit a 41 yarder.

Later in the quarter, Olive Branch’s Tarik Thomas would cough it up and Maurice Hampton picked it up and took it all the way for a score.

ECS 35, Northpoint 7

In Cordova, things got going heavy early when QB Tyler Thweatt got popped hard by ESC linebacker Logan Saunders, who forced a fumble in the backfield.

Still scoreless in the 2nd quarter, ECS quarterback Keegan Westbrook tossed it to Kenton Harvill, who took it in for the 50 yard score to put the Eagles up 7-0.

ECS would turn on the gas from there and pick up a big win.

Brighton 25, Southwind 20

At Southwind, the Jaguars trailed 16-0 at the half.

In the third, Southwind tried to get something going, but Ethan Reeves picked up a fumble for the Cardinals and brought it back to midfield.

Brighton would take advantage when Malik Jackson found Andre Golden with a jump pass to set up a one-yard run and score for Marquis Traylor.

Whitehaven 47, Arlington 17

Down 6-0 early, Arlington got on the board in the first with a field goal by Saul Perez to make it 6-3.  From there, Arlington’s Jero Allen picked off a pass to put them deep into Whitehaven territory.

Then, it was QB Tate Kolwyick who took it in for the score.

Arlington’s upset bid took a turn for the worst from there, as Whitehaven running back Kylan Watkins scored three touchdowns in the first half and put the game out of reach.

Hernando 48, Millington 14

Hernando took a 41-0 lead into halftime, but the Trojans returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown to try to get things going.

It was ultimately meaningless, however, as Hernando won in a blowout.

Ridgeway 48, Craigmont 0

At Halle Stadium, the Ridgeway Roadrunners lived up to their name. In the 3rd quarter, Ridgeway QB Tyrique Sandusky faked a handoff and found open field, taking it to the house from 34 yards out to put his team up 42-0.

In the 4th, Craigmont was trying to get anything going, but Chiefs QB Dieundre Carter was picked off by Joesph Newberry. Ridgeway took over and QB Quincy Casey found his man Kundarrius Taylor on the slant for another touchdown and a blowout win.
