Memphis police are searching for two suspects after an attempted carjacking early Monday morning.

Just after midnight, an officer pulled into a parking lot near the intersection of Cooper Street and Central Avenue.  The officer heard three loud bangs around the corner.

The officer then drove around the corner, where he saw a white SUV driving in reverse through the parking lot at the intersection.  Three men were running beside the car and looked like they were trying to get into it.

The victims said they were sitting in the SUV when three men came up to the front passenger side of the car and started hitting the window with a brick. After the suspect shattered the window, another suspect pulled out a gun. The victim said he then feared for his life and put his car in reverse.

The officer turned on his blue lights and the suspects started running through the parking lot.  One of the suspects turned around and the officer was able to chase him and arrest him.  He was identified as a 17-year-old.

The other two suspects were last seen running on York Street towards Meda Street.
