A Better Mid-South: Southern Heritage Classic
Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - It's Southern Heritage Classic week in Memphis! It's a week like no other with so much to celebrate that's good about Memphis and the Mid-South.

From the Classic football game on Saturday between Tennessee State University and Jackson State University, the Classic Parade in Orange Mound, Tailgating from Thursday until game time, The Battle of the Bands, and the Stephanie Mills concert, this week gives so much back to the community.

That includes the Classic College Fair which will be held Friday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Pipkin Building at Tiger Lane. This fair is presented by the City of Memphis Office of Youth Services. Regional college and university reps will be there to help you get started on your path to attending college. It's free and reality star, K. Michelle, will be making an appearance.
