MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

There's nothing like Memphis barbeque, especially when the proceeds go to a worthy cause.

Youth Town's BBQ/Music Festival is set for Saturday, September 17 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Pinson campus, 3641 Youth Town Road.

The family-friendly event is sponsored by WoodmenLife and Quality Metal Stamping, and features a petting zoo, car show, hayride, arts and crafts, jumpers and fishing. There will also be free hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks. BBQ sandwiches and shoulders will be for sale.

BBQ teams, vendors, volunteers and car show entries can register by contacting Mike Roby at 731-234-5642 or mroby@youthtown.net.

Students from Freed-Hardeman University and the University of Memphis Lambuth, as well as volunteers from Quality Metal Stamping will help host the festival.

Proceeds from the event fund programs that serve young men and women battling addiction as well as provide support for their families.

"Each time members of the community support a Youth Town fundraiser, they are helping our young men and women on the road to recovery through Christian principles and proven therapeutic treatments," Mike Roby, the director of development for Youth Town, said.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and fishing poles, but no alcohol or tobacco on the premises.

Youth Town's Pinson location offers a Christ-centered, residential drug and alcohol treatment program for boys 12 to 17. Eden, Youth Town's residential program for girls, opened its Beech Bluff campus in mid-2015.
