Forecast update for your Mid-South weekend plans

A big weekend ahead across the Mid-South with a lot of outdoor events happening and everyone is checking on the forecast. Here is the forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday will not be a washout by any means. In fact, some will see rain and some won’t. I think the best time frame for some showers is late morning from Memphis north and late afternoon/evening for north Mississippi. Otherwise, expect clouds and even a little sun.

Here is a sample of some of the events happening across the area.

Delta Fair at the Agricenter
Germantown Festival at the Germantown Civic Club Complex
Stanky Creek Races at Barlett Park
Relay For Life Collierville at Collierville Town Square
Delta Dash and Cotton Candy Fun Run

You can get a list of all the events by clicking on this link.

One of the main events is the Southern Heritage Classic. Battle of the Bands will start around 10 a.m. and I can’t rule out a shower but pinpointing exactly where they will fire up is difficult. I would take rain gear to be safe but there is a good chance it stays dry for a portion of the all-day tailgating. Any showers will be moving south at kickoff around 6 p.m. I think the game will be rain-free from the second quarter to the end.

Have a great weekend!
