JACKSON, TN (WMC) -

On the 15th anniversary of the terrorists attacks in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, a small church in rural Jackson, TN celebrated their 128th anniversary.

Lester's Chapel United Methodist Church was founded in 1888. Sunday, September 11, the church located in the small community near South Jackson observed their annual Homecoming services.

In honor of what has become a significant date in our nations history, the theme of the event in Jackson focused on "First Responders," for those in service to our country, state and local communities.

Those who have served in the military or as first responders were encouraged to wear uniforms, hats, medals, badges or any insignia.

The days program reflected on appreciation for past, loyalty to the present, and commitment to the future.  Afterwards a potluck lunch was served.
