GLENDALE, AZ (WMC) -

Although the attention of most baseball-watchers is on the September pennant races, the St. Louis Cardinals have announced which of their prospects will be playing in the Arizona Fall League.

League games begin October 11 and run through November 17. Beginning in October, we’ll take a look at how those prospects are doing, but for now, here are the players that the Cardinals have assigned to the AFL:

LHP Cory Littrell
RHP Rowan Wick
C  Carson Kelly
3B Paul DeJong
OF Harrison Bader

Littrell is listed as the organization’s #29 prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com. Carson Kelly is #11, DeJong #15, and Bader #3.

The two-division, six-team league was founded in 1992 and is owned and operated by Major League Baseball. Top young players from all 30 MLB teams are represented, with each team supplying six players (the Cardinals are holding open one position at this time).

Cardinals prospects are assigned to the Glendale Desert Dogs, along with prospects from the Washington Nationals, Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
