MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A tractor-trailer jackknifed on westbound I-40 near Canada Road.

The crash happened just before the Canada Road exit around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials said the tractor-trailer lost control. The truck slammed into a concrete barrier, then jackknifed.

The impact of the crash sent debris flying across the highway. The truck was reportedly carrying items from EBay and Amazon.

According to state troopers, the driver was immediately rushed to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash caused major traffic issues as crews worked to clear the scene. Lanes were shut down until multiple tow tracks could get on the scene.

Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies diverted traffic to Tennessee Highway 385 during the cleanup.

Tow trucks eventually got the big rig off the highway. Lanes on I-40 westbound at Canada Road were reopened around 11 a.m.
