Grow a beard for Bartlett's 150th Anniversary

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

To celebrate Bartlett's 150 years as a city, men are being asked to grow a beard just like the men 150 years ago would have had.

The competition is called "Beards for Bartlett" and judging for the competition happens at the Bartlett Festival Saturday, October 1 at 10 a.m.

There are several trophies and prizes to be awarded. Categories are listed below:

  • Best Overall Beard
  • Thickest Beard
  • Most Original Beard
  • Best Kept (neatest) Beard
  • Wildest/Ugliest Beard
  • Best Goatee
  • Best Chops/Sideburns
  • Best Mustache

Registration costs $5 and all participants will receive a commemorative pin to wear.

All proceeds from the competition go to the West Tennessee Veterans, Inc. to help with their efforts to build a State Veterans home in Shelby County.
