Annual 5k run to raise awareness about autism

Sensory World Memphis is preparing for its 4th annual Autism Awareness and Special Needs 5k Walk/Run and Family Day this Saturday, September 17. 

The proceeds will benefit Memphis Joy Prom--a full scale prom for special needs individuals.

The annual race will be held this year at 8 a.m. at Bert Ferguson community Center Park at 8505 Trinity Rd in Cordova, TN.  The race began in 2013 and is now a popular event that hundreds of families look forward to every fall. Organizers said the 2013 race had 600 participants and over $17,000 was raised.

There will be a Gamestop Truck, Bouncy houses, show clowns, face painting, free food and raffles and various cheer squad performances.  Registration is $25.
