Selmer, TN (WMC) -

A former lieutenant for the Selmer Police Department pleaded guilty to accessing child pornography on a hidden website.

According to U.S. Attorney Edward L. Stanton III, 36-year-old Tony Miller was a member of a website dedicated to sharing child pornography.

Information presented in court revealed Miller used special technology to access the site regularly between January and March of 2015. The technology disguised the identities of members trying to access the site, which couldn't be found via traditional search engines.

The website featured images of minors, some under 12 years old, engaging in sexual activity with adults.

After an undercover investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Miller was identified as one of the website's users. At the time, he was a Lieutenant with the Selmer Police Department.

Miller said he used the internet and work-issued devices to access the website, and that he used technology to conceal his criminal activity.

Miller is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, December 16. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Anyone with information about this case or related activities is asked to call the Memphis Child Exploitation Task Force at (901)747-4300.
