(WMC) -

As the season rolls along, Week 5 of Friday Football Fever brought some marquee matchups with great action to boot.

Here is some of the best of the week:

MUS 29, South Panola 0

With no score, the Owls drove down the field, with Steven Regis hitting Jalon Love over the middle for a big completion. This set up a Regis toss to Ryan Pahlow in the endzone to put the Owls on the board.

MUS would dominate the rest of the way, with Regis tossing a dump pass to Dradley Foley for 34 yards before he ran out of bounds. MUS would settle for a 26-yard field goal to cap the drive, but South Panola failed to score in the shutout.

Cordova 41, Collierville 14

The Wolves came to Collierville High looking to spoil the Dragons’ homecoming.

Jeremy Banks took a handoff and scrambled for 15 yards for a first down in Dragon territory. Quarterback Devin Coleman would follow with a bomb to Isiah Stinson, who was brought down inside the 10.

On the next play, Harold Lacey went around the end for a touchdown. The Wolves would get plenty more as they won handily.

Lausanne 24, Harding 21

With Lausanne leading 17-14 in the fourth, Eric Gray got the rock and broke several tackles, making his way into the endzone from 23 yards out to put the Lynx on top.

Later in the fourth with the Lions driving, Ty Kimberlin aired it out but got picked off by Erik Campbell. The Lynx would squeak out a close win.

Raleigh-Egypt 9, Covington 6

The Chargers hosted the Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs in Covington. With the away team driving, senior back Melvin Gray took a toss sweep to the outside, but he got wrapped up around midfield. Five plays later, it was a much different result as they went off tackle to DaShawn Boyland, who ran hard to inside the 15 yard line.

The next play, the Pharaohs gave it to Boyland again on a toss sweep and he blocked his own way for the dive into the endzone. The extra point was blocked, which would be a key factor in a tight game.

Southwind 12, Munford 6

The tight-fought contest was on display with the Jaguars near midfield. Quarterback Kameron Williams dropped back to pass, but was swarmed by Cougars and he’s was brought down, leading to a punt.

With Muinford on offense, things would turn as Chaz Hayes took a sweep for a big carry to the Southwind 27. The Jags defense would remain tough, with a sweep to Ky Washington netting negative yards on the play as defense dominated the night in an overtime bout.

LR Central 17, West Memphis 12

The Blue Devils welcomed in Little Rock Central, but fell to a quick 17-0 deficit. Their attempt at points off a 30-yard boot from Dylan Wiggington was no good as the kick sailed wide right.

Next series, LR Central quarterback Jacob Howard shot a pass over the middle, but it’s under thrown and picked off by Malik Jordan, who returned it to the house for 6.

The extra point was blocked, and LR Central staves off the comeback attempt.

St. Benedict 51, Catholic 14

The Eagles were flying high, with Jesse Komoroski catching a 30 yard pass from Cam Jones to put his team in the red zone.

Jones called his own number later on a keeper to bring it inside the 10, and again rush it in for a 5 yard touchdown as St. Benedict rolled.
