A Hollywood stuntman successfully performed a feat that Evel Knievel failed to do more than four decades ago. Eddie Braun crossed Idaho's Snake River Canyon in a steam-powered "rocket cycle." It was the same jump that Knievel attempted back in 1974. However, the legendary daredevil ended up at the bottom of the canyon when his craft's parachute deployed too soon. Braun said he wanted to pay homage to Knievel my making the jump himself. He worked on the stunt for three years, even enlisting the son of the man who built Knievel's rocket cycle to design one of his own. Braun says he likely spent one-and-a-half million dollars to make this dream a reality.
