A quick-thinking mother saved her daughter and herself from an attempted kidnapping.

According to the police report, the victim had just put her daughter into her car when Shaughn Walker, 50, got into the passenger side of her car. Walker pointed a gun at the victim and told her to "drive."

Fearing for her daughter's safety, the victim told her daughter in Spanish to get out of the car. She then got out of the car herself.

Walker moved into the driver's seat and left driving the victim's 2007 Nissan Pathfinder.

Later, officers were at a BP gas station on Wells Station Road watching surveillance video of a person who was in the store earlier that morning, causing a disturbance. While watching the video, officers saw a man who matched the description of the suspected robber. That man was Shaughn Walker.

Once he walked into the store's parking lot, employees saw him and told police he was the man who caused the disturbance earlier in the day.

Officers said Walker then got aggressive and refused to listen to the officers' commands. Officers tased him and arrested him.

He was charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and resisting official detention. Walker has a history of drug, DUI, and theft arrests.
