MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis police are working to extradite a murder suspect back to Memphis after law enforcement officials found him in Houston, Texas.

According to police, Derrick 'D-Murder' Matthews was picked up on September 16 on a first-degree murder warrant that had been issued by MPD.

Police said Matthews shot and killed John Jones the day before Christmas Eve, December 23, 2015, on the front porch of a home in the 1500 block of McMillan Street.

The evidence, according to police, suggested that Jones was ambushed by a barrage of gunfire.

Raymon Muhammad was previously charged with first-degree murder in this case, before police located Matthews, who was the second suspect in the murder.
