MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

More than a year after Memphis police officer Sean Bolton was killed in the line of duty, the man accused of shooting him had a court appearance.

Tremaine Wilbourn faces charges including first-degree murder and carjacking in connection with the incident on August 1, 2015 near Cottonwood Road and Perkins Road.

Investigators said Bolton was shot when he interrupted a drug deal. An autopsy later revealed he was shot eight times.

Wilbourn turned himself in to U.S. Marshals a few days later. He is in jail on a $10 million bond.
