Biker Dad: Texas bikers show up in support for fallen rider

Lubbock, TX (WMC) -

Nearly 100 bikers gathered Tuesday evening to deliver kindness and a meal to the family of the man killed in a Lubbock, Texas crash Sunday evening.

Sammy Castaneda was on his motorcycle, when police say he was hit by a drunk driver who pushed him into oncoming traffic. Castaneda was taken to the hospital where he later died. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Now multiple motorcycle clubs across Lubbock say they plan on helping them in their time of need, a gesture Sammy's brother says doesn't go unnoticed.

"It's an honor to see how close the brotherhood of bikers can come together when one of our own has fallen," said Roman Martinez. "I'm truly honored to, to have all these guys that don't even know me. It's not about how Sammy died, it's about how he lived."

James Albert Pritchard, 49, remains behind bars tonight in connection with the crash facing a charge of manslaughter.
