San Diego, CA (WMC) -

Former Mississippi State superstar Hunter Renfroe has completed his “road to the show.”

The former first-round pick was called up to the majors Tuesday.

Renfroe was a first round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2013 after leading the Bulldogs to the College World Series finals.

Renfroe, who was with the Padres AAA club El Paso Chihuahuas, was named the PCL Most Valuable Player in 2016, hitting .306 with 30 home runs and 105 RBIs for AAA El Paso Chihuahuas.

He is the 5th Bulldog to be called to the majors this season (Adam Frazier, Chad Girodo, Chris Stratton, Jonathan Holder).

He is also the seventh Bulldog from the 2012 team to reach the major leagues, just one shy of the SEC record.
