West Memphis police chase wanted man into field, arrest him

WEST MEMPHIS, AR (WMC) -

Law enforcement officials arrested a wanted fugitive in West Memphis, Arkansas Wednesday evening.

Officials chased Deterrius Wilson, 30, into a field with high grass after receiving a tip about his whereabouts.

Police went to East Monroe Street to find Wilson, but he left. Detectives followed Wilson to Village Drive, where they chased him into the field.

Wilson eventually surrendered to police, complying with commands by officers as they approached him cautiously.

Wilson is charged with two counts of felony in possession of a firearm, theft by receiving of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, fleeing, and violation of parole.
