(WMC) -

Fall signals the start of football season and cool weather. Well, football season has begun, but the cool weather has not.

Memphis reached 95 degrees for the first two days of fall and there is more heat in store for the first weekend of fall. High pressure will keep the weekend warm and dry, with highs in the low to mid nineties for Saturday and Sunday.  Humidity levels will also increase, which will make it feel muggy, especially during the afternoon hours.

There are also two big games being played this weekend that will have to endure the above average temperatures and humidity.

Ole Miss will play Georgia in Oxford Saturday with kick off at 11 a.m. That's about the time the sun will be reaching its maximum angle and the heat will be tamping up.  As the game starts temperatures will be near 90 degrees and will continue to climb into the lower nineties before the game is over. Heat index values will be near one hundred making it feel even warm.

So if you're attending the game, make sure you have plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated. Here at home, the Memphis Tigers will play Bowling Green, but weather conditions will be much more favorable. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the sun sets at 6:49 p.m. Saturday.

Searing heat won't be an issue, but it will be a bit warm and muggy with temperatures in the mid to upper eighties. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid eighties by the fourth quarter, and it will still be muggy, making it feel slightly warmer. It's still important to hydrate before the game and instead of sunscreen, you may need some bug spray, since mosquitoes could be a problem.

Another thing to take along is the WMC Action News 5 Storm Tracker app.  You'll have current weather data no matter where you are along with hour by hour forecast.
